Skydroid VL100 × AT1400 Easily Surpasses 40km Transmission Range Test

In an era where the demand for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone applications is growing rapidly, the extreme performance of aerial equipment has become a core focus. Recently, our testing team took the Skydroid Bat VL100 drone and the AT1400 Flat Panel Directional Antenna into a challenging real-world coastal environment, conducting on an extreme long-range transmission test.

Quick Overview of Core Test Procedures:

Rapid Deployment: Highly integrated modular design allows for out-of-the-box operation. The tripod and flat panel antenna were quickly deployed and fixed, achieving immediate installation and use.

Stable 40km Communication Support: The AT1400 is a high-gain, dual-band, dual-polarized flat panel directional antenna featuring long transmission range, high stability, and reliability. Designed specifically for outdoor fixation with a tripod, it significantly enhances the control signals and data/video transmission range of drones. During offshore field tests, operators fine-tuned the antenna to maintain optimal beam coverage, keeping the link in the best Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) state. Data shows that compared to operating without the flat panel antenna, the SNR was significantly enhanced by approximately 10dB, and the control and data/video transmission signals remain stable. Ultimately, considering the drone's battery endurance, an early return-to-home operation was initiated, while the effective communication distance steadily reached 40.2 km.
